E-Play Staffordshire

Development of the E-Play software is progressing well with the first stage proposal nearing completion. We hope to launch E-Play for children who are unable to have direct contact with a parent before the end of the year. E-Play will allow contact via the internet between children and an absent parent to build or rebuild an important relationship lost due to family conflict.

Attachment and Trauma Training Event 17th July 2008

Childtalk recently held a half day training programme for counsellors interested in Attachment & Trauma training. Barbara Jones, Trainer delivered an informative and revealing presentation into the affects on children of parental attachment and the trauma associated with the loss of this bond.

Teen Magazine

Childtalk has offered support to Teen Revolution, a teen magazine written by young people for young people and distributed in the Newcastle area. Issue 1 was published in June ’08 and has received rave reviews. Childtalk will not only assist with the production of further issues by providing advice and support on potential funders but also aims to facilitate a problem page in the next issue.

MACs Places

Childtalk aims to continue to provide support to Stoke-on-Trent primary and secondary schools by linking up with the pilot MAC places now open in 6 schools across the city. Further information can be obtained by contacting the Childtalk office.

Anti-bullying Week

During National Anti-Bullying Week, supported in the Stoke-on-Trent area by BIP (Behaviour Improvement Programme) a morning of arts and craft was delivered to primary aged children, highlighting the effects of bullying.
